Colebourne/Beaufort Inclusive School
Development:
Birmingham City Council is in the process of restructuring the delivery of special education and proposed the first fully inclusive school involving the merging of Colebourne Primary School and Beaufort Special Needs School. Due to the Site being located in the Green Belt Alliance Planning were commissioned to provide strategic planning advice and act as planning agent for a full planning application. Planning permission was granted in February 2007 by Birmingham City Council following referral under the Green Belt Direction to Government Office West Midlands. Alliance has been subsequently retained to discharge conditions and the school is due for completion in 2008.

Planning consultants, project managers for EIA and overall development advice. Expert witness at Public Inquiry.

Project:
Christ's College, Guildford
Development:
The redevelopment of a former secondary school site to provide a modern, state of the art City College was a priority for the Education Authority and the Faith School's Governors, while keeping the College open during the development process. The proposals provide for an integrated and inspirational campus within the local community, creating a positive learning environment within a challenging environment. The design by leading architects DSDHA was imaginative and welcomed by CABE. Christs College is currently under construction and due for completion in 2008.
Role:
Preparation of planning application and supporting materials, advice and detailed negotiation to achieve permission.
