Casino Development under New Gaming Laws
Development:
The proposal was for the change of use and conversion of part of an existing hotel into Guildford's first Casino. It was believed to be the first new casino proposal to achieve planning permission under the impending changes to the Gaming Laws.

Sandwell Town Centre Health Checks
Development:
As part of the baseline information for the preparation of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council's Local Development Framework Alliance Planning in partnership with Martin Tonks Planning secured a tender submission to undertake health checks for 24 shopping centres. Extensive survey work was carried out with shoppers and local businesses to inform the assessment process which was carried out in line with Planning Policy Statement 6 - Planning for Town Centres. The study was completed in November 2006 and has been used to inform the Core Strategy and emerging options for retail policies for the Borough.
