Alliance Planning achieves significant Renewable Energy Permission

Alliance Planning has secured planning permission for a major low carbon energy facility in Warwickshire, after a Call In Inquiry was held on the basis of its significance in national planning policy terms.

“The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government had completely agreed with his Planning Inspector in accepting Alliance Planning’s evidence that there was significant planning justification on the introduction of a new renewable energy facility in the West Midlands against the background of delivering the Government’s Climate Change Programme and energy policies”, commented Gerald Sweeney, Alliance Planning Director.

Alliance Planning’s Mark Walton project managed and coordinated the renewable energy project team, the planning submission, the Environmental Impact Assessment and acted as expert witness on planning, renewable energy and waste recovery matters.

“Everyone in the project team is pleased with the decision,” said Mark Walton. “This regionally significant facility generates renewable energy from waste food and provides a stimulus for the beneficial use of waste wood material in an environmentally sustainable manner. It is clear that this facility will help lead to the greater introduction of renewable energy facilities elsewhere.”
