Top Marks as College Redevelopment Approved
12-02-2010Alliance has been successful in securing outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the Chilton Trinity Technology College in Bridgwater, working in close partnership with the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Team at Somerset County Council (the Client).
The approval enables the progression of detailed plans for the development of new, state of the art school buildings. The permission also approves the redevelopment of the existing community leisure centre, including the introduction of a swimming pool to really enhance the sports facilities available to the College and local people.
The resolution to grant planning permission was supported unanimously by Members and was secured following the submission of additional information to overcome a pervious refusal of planning permission. The resubmission included an addendum to the previous Transport Assessment and information setting out the management of the leisure facility and other retained buildings on the Site.
The Client can now progress with the scheme and intends to appoint their preferred bidder by the end of this month, who will be responsible for the construction and ongoing management of this and four other secondary schools in Bridgwater.
